Commemorating and remembering of the Battle of Arnhem
I have a small collection of items relating to the remembrance and commemoration of the Battle of Arnhem.
Firstly, a few commemorative covers either marking anniversaries of the battle, marking the actions of individuals, or signed by some of those present at the battle. Commemorative covers are envelopes issued to coincide with the date of a specific event or anniversary, usually bearing a special postmark, and sometimes special stamp(s).
Secondly, a brief mention of some museums and monuments in the Arnhem area. I’m not going to go into too much detail here, as there are plenty of other sites and books which mention these – but I do have a few photographs, taken by a friend, which are obviously not reproduced anywhere else, so I’d like to show them here!
